THE SPONSOR'S MARK  This indicates the manufacturer of the article. The mark consists of the initials of our Company name AN, standing for Ari D. Norman. THE ASSAY OFFICE MARK This identifies the particular Assay Office at which the article was tested and marked: London, Birmingham, Sheffield or Edinburgh. Ari D. Norman have workshops in London, Birmingham and Sheffield. London Birmingham Sheffield

THE STANDARD MARK This denotes the precious metal content of the alloy from which the article is made. All articles manufactured by Ari D. Norman are made of sterling silver which is a silver alloy containing 92.5 percent pure silver. THE DATE LETTER MARK This indicates the year in which the article was Hallmarked, each year is allocated a letter of the alphabet.

THE CONVENTION MARK This is an internationally recognised mark for sterling silver agreed under an International Convention which eliminates the necessity of each country independently checking the fineness of the article upon its importation into that country. Since Ari D. Norman exports worldwide one of these marks is usually applied.
